Jhunyae is an Investor and Head of Business Operations here at the Scope Fund. Jhunyae has experience in consulting, marketing, and management. He presently serves as a Co-founder & CMO of a DC based nonprofit called Hearts of Empowerment and as a Venture Partner at Hawke Ventures.

A syndicate is a special purpose vehicle (SPV) created for the purpose of making one investment. Essentially, members of a syndicate pool their money together and back deals that are brought to the table. Then the syndicate’s lead investor takes the gathered funds and invests it into the approved startups.
Joining the Scope Fund as a member is completely free. There is also no minimum amount a member must invest per year, but the average minimum to invest in a startup is $2,500. Although, this number may vary based on the deal, some minimums may be higher, some may be lower.
No, members can select on deal-by-deal basis which opportunities to invest in.
The Scope Fund invests primarily in Pre Seed to Series B Stage Companies, although if the opportunity has great potential, then we may consider stages outside of this.

The expected timeframe for ROI or Return on Investment on any given investment takes an average of 7 years. Essentially it depends on the speed at which the startup grows and the company’s valuation at exit.
